RAIDERS OF THE MAGIC IVORY (DVD) mercenaries vs. black magic monks

This week we have a really crazy Italian action adventure that came out near the end of the hayday of Italy reign of exploitation goodness. It is a great uncut widescreen print from Japan that is sure to entertain................

RAIDERS OF THE MAGIC IVORY (1988)

Two hardcore mercenaries are approached by a mysterious old Chinese man with an offer for a job that pays a quarter of a million dollars. To get the bounty they must fight their way through the jungles of northern Vietnam, find a hidden underground temple and bring back a golden ivory tablet that has magical properties.

Bullets fly when the two mercenaries combine as an unstoppable force and kill all who they encounter during their trek. Their skills are put to the test though when they reach the temple that is guarded by an ancient sect of black magic monks. The monks are going to sacrifice a woman to unleash the evil powers of the tablet full force upon the earth, and the boys seemed to have arrived just in time to put a stop to this catastrophic event.

Written by Dardano Sacchetti (The Beyond, Demons) and produced by Fabrizio (Thunder) De Angelis, this action adventure is one of the wildest and weirdest to come out of Italy and seemed to completely fly under the radar. The banter between the two leads is also hugely entertaining as they constantly pick on each other and say corny nonsensical one liners.
